Early Life
Yumna was born on the 30th of July 1989 in Karachi, Pakistan. Yumna’s father, Zameendar Zaidi, was a businessman who sadly passed away in 2019.
Her mother, Shabana Naheed Zaidi, is a homemaker. Yumna is originally from a village, Arif Wala, in the Pakpattan district in Punjab, Pakitan.
Also, Yumna went to Sacred Heart Convent School in Lahore for her early studies. In terms of her higher studies, the radio jockey has completed her master’s in Interior design. Currently, she resides in Texas, USA.

Yumna Zaidi’s Carrer
She initially started her career by being a Radio Jockey. Interestingly enough, Yumna had no initial aspirations to become an actor. We can thank her friend, Affan Waheed, for convincing Yumna to pursue acting.
Also, she got her first start in acting in a supporting role in ARY Digital’s drama Thakan which was released in 2012. That led to her getting a lead role in a drama serial, Khushi Ek Rog, also broadcasted by ARY Digital.
Later, Yumna then starred in Urdu 1’s drama Teri Raah Main Rul Gai. Also, she started to get praise and recognition for her portrayal of intense emotional roles in Geo TV’s Meri Dulari and Hum TV’s Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi, both of which were released in 2013.
Yumna got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi at the Hum Awards. She got established as one of the leading actresses in Pakistan with her portrayal of a troubled wife in the tragic romance Rishtey Kuch Adhooray Se.
This role earned her Best Actress award at the Hum Awards 2013 and several other nominations. After this, she starred in a special role in the 2013 series Sannata. Also, Yumna had a supporting role in Kis Se Kahoon, which was directed by Kashif Nisar and starred Sajal Ali and Agha Ali alongside Yumna.
Her Other Works
Yumna Zaidi then starred in various dramas after Kis Se Kahoon. Some of the dramas were Mausam (2014), Madawa (2015), Guzaarish (2015), Jugnoo (2015), Kaanch Ki Guriya (2015), Paras (2015), and Aap Ki Kaneez (2015).
Many of these shows earned Yumna Best Actress nominations. Furthermore, in 2016 Yumna played the lead role in Zara Yaad Kar, directed by Momina Duraid, and also starred Zahid Ahmed and Sana Javed alongside Yumna.
Moreover, she started 2017 with the challenging role of Hayat, a girl whose mother passed away, and her father deserted them at a young age in Hum TV’s Yeh Raha Dil.
Not to miss, she starred opposite Ahmed Ali, and their on-screen chemistry was praised a lot by the viewers. They even got a nomination for Best On-Screen Couple at the Hum Awards.
Later on, Yumna was roped in for Kashif Nisar’s directorial, Pinjra. In the same year, the actress played a role of a victim of sexual harassment, Sila, in Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila.
Her acting in Dar is Jaati Hai Sila was praised. She even got a special mention from a critic from The News International, and we quote,” With fewer dialogues and a tough subject at hand, Yumna pulled off her role effortlessly, making it believable from beginning till the end.”
In the year 2018, Yumna starred in Pukaar and Dil Kya Kare in the roles of Samara Sultan and Aiman, respectively.
Coming to the year 2019, she played lead roles in the drama Inkaar and the story Bandhan of the anthology show Choti Choti Batain. Yumna also had an extended cameo in Ishq Zahe Naseeb.
Aside from acting in dramas, Yumna is also very active in media and often appears in talk shows. Yumna also supports her fellow actor colleagues, as when the crime drama show Udaari was banned, Yumna spoke out against the ban.
